Maintenance Technician

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Attendant is responsible for repairing and keeping the hotel’s equipment and devices in working order. In addition to inspecting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment, the Maintenance Attendant must respond to customer service requests.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, heating, security systems, etc.

  • Repair and troubleshoot breakdowns and technical issues reported by guests or identified during regular inspections.

  • Carry out minor renovation work such as painting, wall repairs, flooring installation, etc.

  • Ensure the proper functioning of kitchen equipment, appliances, and sanitary installations.

  • Monitor and maintain ventilation and air filtration systems to ensure optimal air quality.

  • Manage maintenance requests and assigned tasks using the maintenance tracking system.

  • Coordinate with other hotel departments to minimize disruptions during maintenance work.

  • Comply with safety standards and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.

  • Maintain an appropriate inventory of spare parts and supplies needed for maintenance work.

  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on new technologies and best maintenance practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in technical maintenance and/or renovation

  • Diploma in Building Mechanics or a related field (an asset)

  • Ability to work in confined spaces for extended periods and lift loads up to 50 kg

  • Ability to communicate in French and English

  • Courtesy, autonomy, discretion, endurance, and attention to detail are essential qualities
