Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, the Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the department (arrival/departure/group/VIP) and ensures that company standards are met. This person will work closely with the front desk and engineering department. As the industry is ever-changing, the responsibilities of this position will change and evolve accordingly.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of employees
- Plan and assign tasks to staff members
- Adjust schedules based on occupancy levels
- Manage stocks of cleaning products and guest supplies
- Ensure compliance with rules and procedures
- Participate in employee performance management
- Ensure proper application of the collective agreement
- Ensure the health and safety of personnel
- Coordinate services with external companies/suppliers
- Coach and mentor employees
- Inspect rooms
- Participate in the disciplinary process
- Ensure quality customer service and manage customer complaints
- Any other related tasks to ensure the quality of the department's service.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role in housekeeping for a luxury hotel.
- Knowledge of housekeeping procedures.
- Familiarity with hotel management software.
- Degree or diploma in hotel management or a related field preferred.
- Training or certification in customer service would be an asset.
Languages: Bilingualism (French and English), both oral and written, is required for this position as we serve an international clientele.
