Workplace: 100 Prince Edward St, Saint John, NB E2L 4M5
Status: Full time 40 hours per week
Salary: 17.50$ / hour
Reporting to the Property Manager, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the functionality and appearance of our properties at Prince Edward Square Apartments. Your primary duties will involve maintaining existing units, but you will also assist with renovations and cleaning as needed once your regular tasks are completed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service and address tenant concerns.
- Troubleshoot minor plumbing issues, such as changing faucets and clearing drains.
- Perform minor electrical repairs, including changing fixtures and outlets.
- Clean units after renovations and move-outs.
- Repair locks, knobs, and handles as needed.
- Assist with renovations and coordinate third-party contractors.
- Support daily maintenance and cleaning of the property.
- Remove snow and ice from sidewalks and doorways; salt walkways as required.
- Conduct lawn care and landscape maintenance.
- Perform exterior and interior painting and patch parking area holes.
- Monitor building systems and conduct lighting checks.
- Communicate maintenance issues to the Property Manager and Supervisor.
- Respond to emergencies, including fire alarms and security issues.
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
- Complete other tasks and special projects as assigned.
Skills and qualifications:
- 1-2 years of maintenance-related experience.
- Knowledge of building operations is a plus.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to the safety and security of customers, tenants, and fellow employees.
- Clear criminal record check.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
- Availability for after-hours/on-call work as needed in emergency situations.
