Reporting to the Director of operation, the Director of Food and Beverage is responsible for the overall management of the restaurant and kitchen operations. You will work closely with the management team to develop and implement strategies to optimize food service quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Supervise and coordinate all restaurant operations, including room service, banquet services, and bar operations.
  • Develop and implement restaurant policies and procedures to ensure high standards of quality, service, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and train a team of food and beverage staff, including chefs, servers, sommeliers, and mixologists, ensuring they have the necessary skills to deliver an exceptional experience.
  • Establish and monitor restaurant budgets, ensuring food, beverage, and labor costs are controlled and aligned with financial goals.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to select and negotiate with food and beverage suppliers, ensuring product quality and competitive pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, overseeing regular inspections and adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Analyze food and beverage performance in terms of sales, costs, and customer satisfaction, implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop marketing and promotional strategies to attract and retain customers, utilizing techniques such as advertising, special offers, and events.
  • Maintain competitive intelligence to identify market trends, new opportunities, and necessary adjustments in the food and beverage offerings.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as accommodations and events, to deliver a consistent and high-quality overall guest experience.
  • Any other related tasks to ensure the quality of the department's service.

 

Required Skills:

 

  • Strong human resource management skills (team management, conflict resolution, etc.).
  • Sales, marketing, negotiation, and customer service aptitude.
  • Professional attitude and behavior (teamwork, autonomy, dynamism, interpersonal skills, honesty, versatility, initiative, organizational skills, etc.).
  • Proficiency in French and English. Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the tourism industry and customer needs.
  • Understanding and application of labor standards, basic principles of health and safety, as well as hygiene and sanitation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with basic operation of relevant computer systems.
  • Leadership and decision-making ability.

 

Languages: Bilingualism (French-English) is required for this position as we serve an international clients.
