Assistant Property Manager

CanAm Property Management

Location: Central Phoenix, AZ.

Status: Full-Time

Salary: 21.00 to 24.00 per hour depending on experience + comissions

Hours: Tuesday- Friday 9-6 and Saturday from 10-4

Reporting to the property manager, the assistant property manager is responsible for supporting the Property Manager in effectively executing the overall operations strategy of the assigned apartment community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, leasing and maintenance team supervision, property marketing, resident retention, lease administration, rental collections and delinquency management. You will play a key role in the effective management of residential property and resident satisfaction. Your precise administrative support and ability to address resident requests will contribute to maintaining a harmonious and welcoming residential environment.

 

Responsibilities:

Input apartment availability, resident activity, and information into property management software for team communication.

Assist and monitor prospect follow-up and applicant processing.

Ensure timely preparation of apartments for move-ins as per schedule.

Review move-in and renewal files, ensuring accuracy and obtaining resident signatures on required paperwork.

Conduct community orientation and move-in inspections with new residents.

Monitor renewal status, lease expiration, and distribute/follow-up on renewal notices.

Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.

Disseminate communication from Property Manager and corporate offices to the team.

Observe and provide constructive feedback on team members' work quality.

Participate in and promote staff completion of required training initiatives.

Maintain a positive company culture for employee retention.

Adhere to federal Fair Housing requirements and company best practices.

Review and analyze management reports, identifying areas of concern.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies.

Manage financial tasks, including processing payments, verifying invoices, preparing final account statements, and participating in budget processes.

 

 

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

At least 1year of experience in the property management industry. Apartment leasing experience or a combination of accounting skills/education with customer service experience is preferred.

Ability to operate 10-key calculators, copy/scanner/fax machines, and other office equipment.

Driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.

Strong customer orientation and ability to solve problems with tact and diplomacy.

Good knowledge of basic principles of residential property management.

Proficiency in common computer tools and software such as spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Discretion and respect for the confidentiality of information.

 

Languages: English oral and written, is required for this position
